Abbey will change name to Santander.

Just received in this morning's mail:
We are changing our name to Santander. We think you like the change it brings.
I am writing to share some important news with you about changes that are taking place at Abbey. Abbey has been part of the Santander group since 2004 and in 2010, along with the Bradford & Bingley savings business and Alliance & Leicester will be coming together as Santander in the UK.
The change will happen in early 2010 for Abbey and Bradford & Bingley and later in the same year for Alliance and Leicester.

Does anyone really care what they call themselves ?
Giving up the Abbey name might finally help people realise, they are no longer dealing with that treasured institution we once knew as Abbey.
The name of their new credit card product sums it up nicely:-
