It turned into an afternoon in a pub beer garden, and then I went back to his house for coffee (and yes, JUST coffee lol.....well, in fact, I had water, he had coffee).

I don't know what made me go really, I certainly didn't want to, in fact I was crying in the car on the way, and I hadn't made an effort at all, normal clothing, tiniest bit of make-up, minimal hair-straightening....but we got on so well!

I can't honestly say there were fireworks, but I liked him a lot. He really shyly asked if I'd like to meet up again, and I said yes, but typically, he's away now for 2 weekends, and I have the kids the weekend after that so...

Guess I'll see him sometime around Christmas! :rotfl:

well, that wasn't exactly the disaster you thought then :D

'I liked him a lot' is a good start :D

Thats kind of how my cold started.....

Just did a training run this morning with runchums...we did the course of the 10k I am doing in two weeks but I just couldn't do it. I had to walk the last 3k. Felt totally drained.

Gonna go to bed in a minute....

Sometimes it's best to go into these things with no expectations. My experience is that I've only ever found someone when I'm not looking.

My ex and I met at ladies day (Ascot) the last place I expected to meet a bloke.

My hubby and I met very soon after my breaking up with the ex and the last thing I wanted was a bloke, especially as said ex was now in full on chase (and get me back) mode. He was engineering on a gig and his pick up line was 'christ, you've got some chops.... for a girl'

I actually really tried to stop anything romantic developing because first of all there wasn't really the fireworks and secondly because it was all too soon. But I soon found that we had so much in common, he was so easy to get on with and I didn't have to make the slightest bit of effort with him. The fireworks came much later, but even then not in the full on way I got with the ex. For me that was a good thing, the massive exciting passion came with an awful lot of stress and heartache. The love that grew from friendship, being comfortable and having the whole world in common is so much more special to me.

So, I married him and it was the best thing I ever did.

Awww Toto that's lovely and so romantic. :)

I crave the fireworks but they only happen with people who aren't very good for me. The guy I met today is much better looking than the guy I met on Friday, and much nicer. But guess which one of them has got under my skin a bit.

Still, it's a nice break from thinking about Shrek! :rotfl:
