Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sat 13th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning. Sunny start to the day, some threatenning clouds, but unsure what they will do. Managed to find a few meat bargains yesterday, so had 18 lamb chops for £6 which went well with new potatoes. Ribs, steaks and bacon etc all good too.
At least the weather cleared up and I could get a few jobs done.
Work at 1300 and so lazy morning and bit of gardening.Hope you have a good one

    Morning all

Bright start today, hope it is like yest, was beautiful! Early start today, bed stripped and in wm, overnight load already on the line, bm on, and dw emptied and put away.

This morning we are going to queue for tickets. Every year our council put on several free events, Party in the Park for younger crowd, Opera in the Park for likes of us (although depending on headline acts I have been known to go to both) and then in September a fantastic event called Classical Fantasia (held in 12th century Abbey with brilliant music and fireworks display - 1812 overture has to be experienced!!!!) Anyway all these events are amazing (and huge) and are completely free to residents and it is the ticket launch today for Party and Opera in the Park, so I am off to get some. These events are one of the highlights of my summer, a large crowd of us go together, take along picnics and bottles of wine etc and have a great evening, can't wait:D:beer::j

FE fingers crossed for Monday for you, I will say a little prayer:grouphug:
    Beth and NPM((((Hugs))))
Diva glad to hear tooth sorted:)

Anyway after a week of persuasion (must be loosing my touch - didn't used to take me a week!!) my OH has agreed that if we can find one within our budget, in good condition, we can get a caravan:j:j:j I have wanted one for ages so that we can go off at weekends etc and chill out but he has resisted up to now, till I showed him some sites where he can fish!!!! Not that does fish now but it is something that he always wants to do but never finds time, he has the rods etc - so he has come round to the idea. The only problem now is finding a decent-ish caravan in our budget (which is very small!) and then we will have to find storage somewhere! But those minor details aside(!!!) I am so excited!!

Right wm just finished off to hang bedding on line, enjoy your day everyone!

Morning N9eav & All to follow

Bethebee - have just read your post from yesterday - (((hugs))) to you and your family, my DD has had 2 of those kidney injections/scans - hope she doesnt need any more.

Thanks for all your comments yesterday - we are so relieved. We will still be skint as have had to go down to the bare bones to get this contract, but at least everyone still working. Got a meeting today to sort what we need to do, new vehicles etc.

Lovely and sunny here again, just about to have a quick bath then cycle down the shops for a couple of bits. We have 2 shops, 2 takeaways and a couple of hairderssers in our village - they are very busy especialy this time of year with all the holidaymakers and yesterday double yellow lines appeared outside. So have decided to get on my bike which will help me get fit as well.

Need to pick up DD from another village as she had a sleepover and hopefully DS will play out today. Will make the most of the sunny weather and get as much washing done as possible. Get the meeting sorted and hopefully be able to sit in the garden this afternoon.

    Have a lovely Satuday.

    Morning everyone.
I apologise in advance. there will be little to no OS content in this post as we are off on our holiday today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am getting impatient to get packed up and go but H is still in bed because he decided last night he wasn't tired (more like overtired if you ask me) so went to bed a midnight. He's still got to do his packing so here I am hanging around like a spare wheel at the moment as I have packed all I can. I know it's only Weston Super Mare but we haven't been on holiday since 3 weeks before I had DD last year and I DESPERATE to see some countryside!
Have tried not to pack the kitchen sink. Am taking some home grown little gem lettuce with me and have done a rough meal plan for the week (see some OS ;) ) so hopefully we will at least bring back slightly less than we are going with. Biggest problem is the clothes as I am having to pack for every eventuality.

Nic1lou2 - hope you get your tickets and enjoy caravan shopping!!!!!
Essex-girl - be careful on your bike! Hope you've got a helmet.

This is my last post for a week. I am sure I will flatline without MSE. I mean what will I do on my early mornings with DD milling around?!!
Have a lovely week all. Hope weather picks up, bit grey and cloudy here at the mo. I want to get on the beach!!!!!

Hi Bitsy Beans, weather here in the west country warm but overcast just now but supposed to get to 22 degrees tomorrow. So welcome to the most beautiful part of the UK - IMO!

Off to work in a mo, no mean manager today working on my own - yipee!

Still fuming over DH ex turning up here last night completely uninvited and dumping SKID on us who we have not seen in 13 months - due to ex!

My DD3 is off to see her Dad - my ex - today which is stressful as he only sees her about 2 days a year owing to him not living in the UK and marrying a Russian child - no I am not bitter! :rotfl:

Nothing very OS today - spicy beanburgers out of the freezer for tea tonight - cannot be asked to cook after a busy Saturday in the shop.

Hugs to all who need it - have a great holiday Bitsy.

    Good morning,

Not much OS here today either. The weather looks good, so I'm going to make a packed lunch and take ds to the zoo. He has far too much energy, and I always think that small children are a bit like puppies - if you don't take them for a good run then they wreck your house :rotfl:
We both have season tickets for the zoo, so it's a cheap and easy day out.

Betheebee ((hugs)) to you. The whole thing sounds like a nightmare.

Bitsy enjoy your holiday. I have a last minute packer too. He went with no shorts or clean trousers one year and we had to go and buy him some. Not to mention the year I took his polo neck winter pullover out of the suitcase before we left for Tenerife!

Essex-girl I'm pleased to hear your good news.

Take care all of you. I'll be back later when I've walked the legs off a certain someone :rotfl:

    Morning peeps

feel quite a lot better this morning - just the sore throat to get better and i`m sorted, i slept for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and only woke twice in the night with the congestion. Still feel a bit tired but nothing like yesterday. I shall carry on with the honey, lemon & vinegar as it seems to be doing a good job.:D

The weather dosen`t seem to be able to decide what to do, it was lovely and sunny when i hung out the washing but is now overcast - hopefully we won`t get rain until later though.

I need to do a freezer inventory later, there is even more food in there than last week, i`m convinced that it will never be empty enough to defrost properly

Fairy elephant - Fingers crossed for you on Monday, good luck!

Cranky - Have a good time at the zoo with DS

Julietiff - Happy Birthday, enjoy yourself :bdaycake:

    Hermoine - ((((HUGS))))

I`m off for a nice hot shower, have a great Saturday everyone.

    Morning

Well the weather here is very overcast and had drizzle this morning.

Not much os to be done today as yesterday we went along the coast to the southernmost tip of Scotland. A tiny little place called Port Logan. It's where they filmed Two thousand Acres of Sky. The water was so clear and even though it was freezing both kids were in there trying to catch fish with their nets. Was a very cute sight and think everyone throught we were nuts:rotfl::rotfl:.

So today have to do some washing as they got through so many clothes and think they brought the seaside back with them:rolleyes:.

Got stuff in to do a fry up for brunch so that should see us through to dinner which will either be haggis and cheese bake with baked potato or frying steak and chips. My parents have the kids tonight for me so OH and myself can have a peaceful night. Well if I can get him off ebay looking at boats. See what a day out does!!

hermoine - Its never easy with kids and exe's I have the same problem. Sometimes feel when they aquire a 'new' family they forget about the actual one they started with  Big hugs to you xxxx
Bitsy Beans - Have a fantastic holiday, I've not had a holiday in 3 years and really need one:o
    Betheebee - (((((HUGS)))))
Essex Girl - Good luck with all the planning
nic1lou2 - That sounds like a fatastic summer ahead. Fingers crossed for you getting the tickets
MSD - Glad ou heard from Tris :T

Well fingers crossed for the sunshine xxxxxx
Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

    Morning :hello:

The weather is a bit ummmm at the moment I don't think it knows what to do  hopefully the sunshine will win

will have brekkie at Mums this morning, Lunch at MIL's and dinner will be our Saturday night treat Pizza (with beans for OH)

Must get some meat out of the freezer for Dinner tomorrow.

nic1lou2 - I know what you mean about caravans I love them. We bought a second hand tourer a couple of months ago, and have it down near Paignton, on a site that stores it and pulls it out when we want to go down. But next year we will have a seasonal pitch so we can go anytime we want, she had none left this year as caravaning is getting really popular now. We did think of a static van but the prices are  so are the site fees. Happy hunting :D

Bitsy Beans - Have a nice holiday and I hope the weather is kind to you
HAPPY BIRTHDAY julietiff - :bdaycake:enjoy your day x

Washing has finished so I will go get that out, the garden looks lovely and tidy now after all the hard work yesterday.

    Have good days all
