Wife has M&S card will I be able to get one?

Feels like a silly question but:

Would I be able to apply for a Marks and Spencer credit card if my wife already has one?

In general how long would an application take?

yep go for it, credit is individual - your wife and you will be separate but for financial links (associations)

Takes a few mins to apply.... issued by HSBC so make sure you haven't been applying with them for last 6mth....

Could I just ask, does this apply if you are a second card holder with a company? Could you still apply for your own card?

Indeed you can - additional card holder means you're not really a customer of that lender.

Thanks, I'm now trying to fill in the details but as a housewife have no personal income although my husband does. Do I fill in the income as £0 or as the household income in the employment section.

Hubby must give you housekeeping? Put that, like £XX per month then multiply it.... lol

Or just be honest and put £0 - then in household income put everything including any Chb/CTC/WTC/FTC you may get....

Will do. Have now applied using household income so will let you know. Wanted to try Tesco but that seemed to only be your own income so thought I had no chance of getting that one.

    Thanks for all your help.

That's right. M&S is one of the few exceptions, where the application asks for household income rather than salary.

As you can tell from the marketing, the M&S card is aimed at ladies ;)

    Very best

  • Just to update you, have just received new M & S credit card with £4,000.00 limit and the apr is 0% for 10 months and then 14.880% after that.

    Thanks for all your help.
