She’s probably been scared for life, expect a visit from SS.

You are supposed to reason and explain why she needs to keep clean and she’ll learn in her own good time. If parents start expecting kids to do as they are told and when they are told (with the risk of consequences if they don’t) the fabric of society will fall apart and before you know it we’ll be back in the ‘70s and then what would happen?

Do you seriously think I went from nothing to a huge b0llocking? I've been "reasoning and explaining" to her for the 3 years she's been in school, but as JH correctly summises, she's too concerned with going out to play to pay attention to whether she's clean or not and then gets upset later on when she sees that she's "dirty". My threat to remove her from school if she can't be sensible enough to keep herself clean has worked. And better a b0llocking than she carries on the way she was and her classmates end up ostracising her, or worse, bullying her, because she stinks!!! (and yes, I tried explaining that to her too ).

Oh and in many ways I'd have no problem to us going back to the 70's :D.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

Any school uniform outfitter should be able to help with sizes and alterations.

To develop fine motor skills you need to do things like play with playdoh and make bread! My son had this problem and the muscles they need to develop are at the top of the arms!!
  • I'd also recommend BHS generous fit school clothes.. and Gap do a "husky fit" which is for bigger boys - adjustable waist etc.

think you might have misunderstood my post…..

three years of "reasoning and explaining" and dirty knickers or one big b0llocking and clean knickers for ever?

As a parent I know which one I’d go for and I suspect any half sensible child would agree (when they grow up).

Ahh, the ‘70s in South Wales, quite probably the happiest time of my life. Youth, no responsibilities, a feeling of real political & social optimism, safe on the streets, lots of sex and drugs and rock & roll, beer, lots of jobs, free university & dentistry, the best music ever, a golden age for Welsh rugby etc etc. Hell I even remember the weather being good. Bring it on I say

Sorry, were you being tongue in cheek :o? You need to be more obvious next time with thicky me ;). I'm more used to life in the arms.

I was a bit young to be having a sex, drug and rock and roll 70's, but I had lots of fun and freedom nonetheless! But nowt much wrong with welsh rugby nowadays though - well not when Stephen Jones is playing :happyhear.

Yep, I think SJ is pretty good (although I suspect for different reason to you!!) although others like Shane Williams, Martyn Williams and even the orange one have played their part too.

They just don’t have the consistence that the teams of the ’70s had when winning was almost automatic for the likes of Gareth Edwards, Gerald Davies, Ray Gravell, JJ & JPR Williams etc
