Gas & Electric

Hi All

i am a FTB and just brought a new 3 bedroom house. i need to get all the services connected again such as gas and electric. I am will be living on my own and my energy comsumption will be low.

I don't know which supplier will give me the cheapest rates. As i don't know what my usage will be and i don't have a current supplier (as am moving out of my parents home), i am finding it diffcult to use any of the comparsion search engine websites to make any real comparisons

Can anyone Help

    The property you are moving in to WILL have a supplier and you will have no choice but to take that supplier initially.

    You have 2 choices that I can think of.

    Use one of the comparison sites e.g.Uswitch. I think they have a facility to estimate your usage.
    This won't be accurate but might have to do initially.

    Or better still, use your parents bills.
    Heating the house is likely to be the same if the house is similar size because the heating costs are not affected by the number of people in the house.
    You might want to factor down the other costs a bit as you are living on your own i.e. do your own estimate.
    It won't be accurate but might be better than using the comparison site.

    The keep your bills for a while and then do the comparison again.
    A year is ideal as that takes into account all seasons.
