Cheapest/Safest way to take money

Hi, I am going on a long holiday to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Dubai.

I have been told you have to purchase Sri Lankan and Maldivian currency there, so am wondering what the best way to take money is?

To take pound sterling travellers cheques travel agents charge. But is this the best way?

I know there are some cards that you can get also but there are charges associated with them too??

Any advice on the best way would be much appreciated,

Hi Maz

I took sterling and changed it in our hotel in Negombo, also used my credit card in Colombo.

You could ask the hotel for a safety deposit box to keep your valuables in.

Have a great holiday, don't forget the malaria tablets.
