Is this a reasonable charge from an accountant?

Options
Im looking for a new accountant and have managed to find one that deals specifically in my line of work. I am currently a sole trader and looking to register as a LTD company as well as for VAT.

The accountant has an all in one package for a fee of £1000. Below is what I get for the fee, and I just want to know if this is a 'reasonable' charge?:

-Purchase of new company and registration with Companies House and HM Revenue.
-PAYE scheme registration and payroll for 1 director including year end PAYE returns which are filed online.
- VAT registration
-Year end accounts for shareholders and HM Revenue and Customs
-Year end abbrieviated accounts for Companies House
-Dividend/personal tax planning review for director
-Directors personal self asessement tax return
-Free accounting software
-Dividend documentation and tax vouchers
-Regular review of accounts
-Fast track business account

That sounds fine, but make sure you know what amount of info they are going to process for that money, like how many invoices your issue and how many supplier invoices you enter.

That's more than reasonable. Very good deal actually.

Mines will be £750 a year but thats for personal tax returns etc and limited company returns (this up from £500 for tax returns only when a partnership and not a ltd company). We do our own vat returns, set up our own ltd company and dont get any payroll done so I would say your £1000 quote for all is a good deal. I orignally shopped around for our existing accountant and although he was not the cheapest he was far from the most expensive and some of the quotes just seemed silly for a small company. Dont go for this package solely based on price but if you are happy with them and feel confident with them then it is a very good price for all thats included.

PS - ask if advice/help etc is included as its handy to have someone there who can say what debit goes where etc if you are stuck - ours is wirth his weight in gold and has helped immensely with accounts issues.

Excellent, that was what I was hoping to hear. Ive posted the same question in a couple of other forums, and the general consensus is a thumbs up.

Or does it go up to £1500.00 next year ???
Its a question I would be asking
