Tracking down Old shares

Hi all
I've just found some old share info amongst my late Mum's papers - my dad who died back in 1974, had shares in 2 companies - Babcock International and FKi plc - have no idea how to find out if they still exist....or if they are worth anything?

Any suggestions please?

A firm called Melrose took over FKI

and there is a company called FKi plc

try putting them into a search engine

you will need to find out the companies registrars and write to them

Babcock International Group (BAB) is still around.
FKI was delisted with buyout by Melrose back in July 2008.

Funny enough, in 1987 it merged with Babcock International to form FKI Babcock but then demerged the heavy engineering parts of Babcock again in 1989.

Nevertheless, I would check with Babcock International Group Investor Relations, where it is on their website. And Melrose Investors as well, whose addresses can be found.

I am surprised by the fact you didn't just goggle them.

EDIT: Too late. Ah well.

Hi all - thanks for all the help - I did google them but got so many confusing results...not so good at this web stuff!

I shall write to the Registrars etc. and both companies - many thanks again - this site is brilliant!
