Nikon software and software serial nos

Two questions:

I need to get a copy of Nikon Capture 4. Any ideas where the cheapest place to buy is?

Also I heard that there are websites that give out serial nos for software so you can register as an official user even though you might have got a copy from someone else. This is illegal right?
