If i were to break the contract and leave my rented propery early.
Would they try to sue me for loss.
The rent comes out of my bank, but there is my ex-girlfriend on the agreement as well.
Would they come after both of us?

Have you read your agreement as to how much notice you have to give? Does it say how much you have to give the landlord and vice versa? I would check the agreement but if you break the agreement I would have thought they are well within their rights to demand the notice period of rent off you - if both your names are on the agreement they should in effect come after both of you.Weight Loss - 102lb0

Not sure mate, but if you just leave without giving notice, I would have thought that they would take the owing rent out of your deposit.

i've been in contact with them, i am or we have to pay rent until the agreed date.
I can give a months written notice to leave, but if if they can find somebody else to take over they will withdrawn me from the contract.
I am keen to move out as i'm in the middle of purchasing a property.
And looking at it i will have to fork out 2 months rent on top of my mortgage!0 -
How come 2 months rent? If you give a months notice surely you wont have to pay for 2 months rent?
Had you not thought about the notice etc when buying another property?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
I was looking at a worse case. Where nobody takes over the rent!
All searches should come back next week!
So i reckon late April is set for a completion date.0 -
Well if you give a months notice now wouldnt you only have to stay there for a month? Even if noone takes over the rent it wouldnt be your problem then as you gave the notice period!Weight Loss - 102lb0

In the contract it states i am liable for the contracted rental period which is 6 months. The Letting Agency & landlord have also told me this!0
