Advise on cashback cards

I have an Amex blue card which I have been using regularly last year until I managed to get an Egg money card recently which I've been using now as regular purchases as it has good advantages being accepted anywhere.

I also read some previous posts that there's no such thing as upgrade to an Amex Platinum card, that I need to have a separate application if I want to meaning another credit search. I am not prepared to do it now as it might jeopardise my future applications of 0% cards.Should I close the card or request to decrease its credit limit?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

When I phoned to close my Amex Blue and explained that I wanted to do this because of low cashback, they urged me to get Amex Platinum instead. I refused and closed the account, but I think you can try to upgrade to Platinum this way. Make sure that they will not make a credit search though.

Definately close your Amex Blue card within a year of stopping using it or they will charge a £10 admin fee!

Actually, they'll charge you £15 if you spend < £500 on it anually. See paragraph 13 - Fees, in their card Terms and Conditions .

Thanks for all your replies. And grumbler I will try to do that I will ring them and ask if they will upgrade it and if they say they need to do another credit search I will close it.
