Scammers and fraudsters preying on people who can't help themselves.

If they came to your door you'd tell them to politely f**k off so do the same if they phone. Apply this rule to every one who phones you without your express permission and you'll get a much easier life.
  • I was contacted this week by them, offering me a phone/tv/broadband deal that seemed too good to be true. I had second thoughts after the call & cancelled my credit card, and I got a very irate manager call me back the next day demanding to know why I had wasted his time. He was very rude, cocky & proceeded to spend 15 minutes telling me how great the company & all its latest important contracts. They probably do exist but I dont want to do business with such an unprofessional outfit. Check out the feedback on their 0845 number!
  • dear redfish ,
i was contacted by something back in jan 09 sounded great ! 19.99 per month internet and phone free 01 and 02 numbers so i signed up in feb they installed it ok including a eight foot mast on my chimney to hold the "node" the phone you get a siemens gigaset looks good all the equipment seems top notch ! BUT!!!!!! after a couple of weeks of getting used to it and connecting wireless to laptop and ps3
started loosing internet connection and of coarse when the internets down you loose your phone as well as the calls are made via the net thats why they are free !
its very hard to report faults and expensive cost me over 11 pounds to call them twice as they keep you waiting then pass you on to a tech engineer that takes another 15 to 20 mins .
i have not had a full month's service and it just got worse i had to keep reseting the modem to get any adsl after problem's got worse they changed my modem and update the software im now on my 3rd modem i had no phone or internet for the past 7 days and when you try to contact them a message says this number is temp out of service !
i have taken advise from consumer direct about how to cancel a 12 month contract because of poor sevice ,so be warned !!!! ,they are a london based company perhaps its ok there but im in manchester and its been very poor , like i said before the gear's hi tech and fine "when " it works i have a lot of patience and really wanted it to work !
hope you find this usefull ,suttyian.:money:

A cold call as you were 'running out the door' but you gave the caller your card details?

The call was the voice telephony equivalent of a phishing email - put it down to experience (accept you have lost money because you were foolish) and move on.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Exactly. A golden rule when buying anything is only ever do it when you make the call yourself or you go to the seller or you invite them around to your house. Never on a cold call.

  • I contacted them last March and signed up. They took the connection fee and first months money twice but they did refund that mistake quite quickly. However, after several phone calls to them and several broken promises I still had no phon in May so emailed them asking for my money back. I received 'automated' relpies. Finally got a real live person to resply to my email but still no action. They then took a months money out of my account in June for a phone I have never received. I actually talked to someone in September (or was it August?) and they said they were having trouble with their computer system and hadn't been able to collect or refund any money for months. How unplausible is that - a business not collecting any month in for months?!?! He also said that they expected the computer to be working in the next two weeks. I suggested that they try the good old way of cheque and post. Needless to say, I STILL haven't had my money back! Like I said, NIGHTMARE!!!
