Entitledto?

I have recently split from my partner and just moved into a new house with my 2 year old son. I only work around 27 hours per week and currently claim both working and child tax credits. I went to the entitledto site and after inputting all my details accurately, it turns out I was entitled to around £13 a week housing benefit. But in reality I can only claim £5 per week, as I received a letter from my local council this morning. I can appreciate that the website is only a guide but it seems way out if you ask me. I have to cut my hours again in about 3 weeks time due to child care issues and am now beginning to worry that I won't receive much help. Does anyone have any thoughts or are in the same situation.
