WHOSE MONEY IS IT ANYWAY. Abbey,s?

I took martins advice and opened up a new ISA account and then asked Bradford and Bingley now the wonderful Abbey to allow it to be transferred out. I am already in the middle of a complaint with the Abbey due to the attitude of their Abbey staff refusing to allow me take out a matured bond because of the mix up with their systems. ( that's another story) Anyway I have just had a letter from my new society saying all their correspondence has been ignored and can I help to get my money. Bradford and Bingley customer service don't exsist or won't help and Abbey cant locate my account number, in the mean time my money sits in an account earning zero interest.

Don't think they like complainers. I had a complaint a few months ago - fobbed off with their usual Customer Service speak.
Tried drawing money out 2 weeks ago, they are really dragging their heals, telling me the account is dormant, because of no recent contact, (the recent complaint not withstanding), though I've yet to receive the letter.

Anyway, I'm not pursuing it yet...
Get all your money out first, leaving just enough to still have the account to complain about, then let them have it.

Expect to have to go all the way to the Ombudsman. You'll just have to exhaust their complaints procedure first - which is what they'll try to do to you , long before you get that far.

Just remember, the Omdudsman usually finds against them.

Be careful thou ... I assume you are moving your money from Abbey to somewhere else? DO NOT take the money out yourselve ... ABBEY must transfer it ... else you'll lose the tax free benefits ...

Just avoid abbey - customer service is just getting worse & worse, queues are getting bigger in branches & customers rae going nuts in our Gosforth Branch

Last week I qued for 30 mins to pay money in, the manager was asked 3 times by other staff to get on one of the tills but refused.

A little old lady asked if she could have a seat at the counter as she has been standing for 20 mins & they refused
A mother with screaming baby was crying on the customer telephone line as they had misplaced her benefits & she couldnt buy food

it just goes on & on & they never help you on the phone.
Im moving all my accounts as its just getting worse & worse

Well tonite wasted 27 minutes Queue'ing on the phone, listening repeatedly to How Sorry they are (indeed) ! interspersed with that incessant musik, until bang on the dot of 9 pm, when clunk & they were gone.

Still waiting for their letter, supposedly sent 12 days ago now -no doubt by 2nd class - but you cann't blame Royal Mail for that kinda' delays.

Well I'm about done with a Sorry, 2nd Class Bank, treating their Cusstomers with such contempt.
