2 quick questions on credit card charges reclaiming

Hi,

Thanks in advance for any replies, as they are gratefully received.

I would like to start the process of reclaiming credit card charges on my various old credit cards.

I have two quick questions im not sure on.

1) Can you only reclaim charges above the recommened £18, or can i reclaim from companies where they have only charged £18?

2) When filling in the forms to request for statements. You have to put your account number, which im led to believe is your long card number. If you changed cards (more than likely) in the last 6 years with the company; will they still send charges under the old card number?

thanks again

ricky

  • 1) there is no legally fair amount on credit cards.
    2) I would include the current number but state that it was previously held under a different number and you want all data held.

Can you still put in a claim then, if they have charged you the £12 standard bank charge ?

I have gone right through my statements up to 2008, and all the charges don't go above the £12 a month.

I believe one of my cards (morganstanley mastercard) only charged about £12 five times on late payments.
would it be worth sending off the £10 cheque for the staements, do you think i will be able to reclaim this amount.

    thanks

Yes, because the £12 charge has not been tested in a court of law.

If you know the amount you can claim then you don't need the statements.
