ESA question !

Hello to all the readers,
This is the first time I am submitting a querry onto this website, although had been reading through quite a few discussions for a while now.
I wonder if anyone could kindly help me with this ....
I have been unwell enough for past many months due to a chronic illness...SSP stopped and therefore applied for ESA early this year. Submitted the ESA 50 form and after three months received a letter telling that a I have been put in the support group. Although there wasnt a medical or interview till a week ago when I had to attend a Pathways to work interview at JC plus??? And now I have received a letter to go and attend a work focussed interview??
Now the question is...is this the usual sequence of events for ESA? Will I have to go for a medical at this stage? Is it compulsory to attend the WFIs even when already in support group??
Many thanks in advance for any useful replies.

Hi there,
It may be the case that the work focused interview (WFI) was booked before the decision came through about you being in the support group.
(Sometimes it can take a few days to filter through to JCs)
Just to reassure you, you DO NOT need to attend ANY interviews at the JC unless your circumstanes change & you are no longer in the support group.
It may be worthwhile giving your local JC a call to make sure they have been told the decision by the benefit processing section...
Hope this helps... if you need any more help, just post...!Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!
