jt2k6 you are absolutely spot on with their attitude. When my DH spoke to them last year he was told to pay £50 straight away or they would send out a DC to take things from the house to the value of what we owed. He then tried to tell us that if we didn't let them in they would take us to court and make us sell our house to repay them. Unfortunately my DH wasn't as clued up about what rights he has and tried to be nice to him and tried to explain our circumstances but of course he wasn't the tiniest bit interested.
We spoke to National Debt Line and they said that they were very familiar with them and they were not known for their good communication skills.
I will send them the letter to follow up my original and see what happens. I think they must just be going through some old files and chancing their luck again. The orinial debt is abour 8 years old so probably won't even show on my credit file by now.
Do these DC not usually show up then? that's what i'm more worried about as i'll be in most of the day on my own so just won't open the door but at night when my daughter gets home her friends are always at the door so can't really not open it.0 -
This CSL company have started to ring up for my OH. It is a pre-recorded message "If you are (x) Press 1, if you are not (x) Press 2". So far, we have just hung up on them.
If we send them a letter, they then get our address (if they don't already know it).
We know not to talk to them but have absolutely no idea why they are contacting my OH.0 -
Right that does it. I am sick to the back teeth of this CSL company ringing us. Even pressing 2 to say my OH is not here does not stop them ringing. It's getting to be every day now and was even twice today. I'm going to send them the Telephone Harrassment letter and see what they have to say for themselves0

Finally got the telephone harassment letter printed off and sent to the CSL this afternoon. Fingers crossed they stop phoning us now.0
