I sent a letter to my bank (Lloyds TSB) asking for overdraft charges to be payed back, stating financial hardship, using a template from this website. In total the charges amounted to over £850 in about a year.Im only 20, thats quite alot of money! I got a reply 2 weeks later saying they acknowledged the complaint, but bascily said their still waiting on the court case to be over with. With regards to Financial hardship, it bascily said some sort of debt advisor would ring me from the bank, to talk about how to get me out of my overdraft etc. Not really paying me back is it?
Another twist to the tale, i was about £300 overdrawn (thanks to charges from Lloyds a few weeks ago). I had a £500 overdraft limit. I went to check my balance online and it said i was far over my limit, and that my overdraft limit had been reduced to £150 WITHOUT me knowing a thing about it. I only found out because i checked online. So now im getting charged ANOTHER £80 because of this! argh its so frustrating:mad:! They knew they would be able to charge me if they reduced my limit.
Is there anything i can do to speed up the process? the letter basicly said i had to wait, even though i claimed financial hardship. Does stating financial hardship actually make a diffrence? They said they would ring me to discuss payment plans to help get me out of my overdraft, when i know for a fact i would be out of my overdraft and would never have to go near it again if all these charges were repayed. Them charging me £80 because of somthing THEY did doesnt help!

It sounds like that youa re not communicating properly with your bank. There is a way to approach your bank and if you don't follow this rule they might end up tossing you around. If you need help with writing to your bank the right way you can e-mail me and I will help. I claimed £783 bank from BARCLAYS last week.0

can you Private Message me the letter on here cos I am always open to seeing a good letter especially since you had a result? I wouldn't email you or provide my email addy simply because I don't know you from Adam and giving personal details to a stranger is not something I would doIt sounds like that youa re not communicating properly with your bank. Financial Hardship in reality is priority debt arrears, ie mortgage/rent, council tax, utlities. Do you have any of them?0
