Don't offer anything and try and save all your texts- get legal advise before you say anything else to him.

Do you have email can you get ex to email you instead of text - it's just this is easier to show solicitors.

Sorry to here of your situation its horrible that 16 years on he still feels he can milk you for money because he doesn't have any or just wants to, he really should grow up and stand on his own 2 feet. I hope his current partner is ashamed of his actioned and makes him see it is not fair.

Please go to see a solicitor. I'm afraid you're not getting any useful advice here.

This has nothing to do with contracts (verbal or otherwise) - if he was to force the issue it would be a trusts of land matter.

An ID1 is only required when you're acting in person which hopefully you won't be.

ok - i'll see a solicitor. thankfully i've kept everything paper-wise over the years.

i spoke to land registry and they say that they either need the ID1 or a solicitor to fill in the relevant bit of the AP1 (or TR1 - one of those anyway!) identifying him (for which i think he'd have to be present). unless he comes back and says i've faked his (and both witnesses) signatures, or made them all sign under duress (i'm only little!), apparently it should just be a technicality getting him identified so the forms can be accepted at land registry.

thank you all for you support guys, i'm feeling a little better now :)

Hope you will sever the friendship with wife after you have this sorted, she's obviously into this as well.
