my sister is selling her old family home to a development company , one of the directors on this development team is a solicitor who will be doing the legal work for the company, he is also a director of the legal firm is this not a conflict of interest, what would be the implications ?wonder which company he would be likely to favour and how would they sort out legal costs etc.

There is an obvious conflict of interest if the same solicitor is acting for both parties. I wonder if your sister has got the wrong end of the stick and that solicitor is just acting for the development company?
I would appoint my own solicitor to carry out my legal work and review what is produced by their solicitor.0 -
sorry did not make myself clear, the devlopment comapny are not using the same solicitor as my sister,
they are using the directors firm, he is a director of both the development comapny and solicitors who act for them.my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0 -

Then any conflict of interest is between the developer and the solicitor.
Your sis will have her own solicitor to look after her interests in the dealWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
