EDF Social tariff refund?

Hi there, previously posted about the 15% rebate from EDF if you are on their social tariff, has anyone had theirs back yet? I keep ringing and they move the goal posts but now are saying June but still nothing from them! Had a letter last week about how they aren't going to do it this way again but lower the price but we would still get the rebate for this past qualifying period. Any news out there?

I've been on EDF Energy assist since October for Electric and the discount is built into the unit price - now 5% off standard.

Hi there, yes our tariff has changed to take this into account but only since May of this year we will still be getting a rebate from October last year till May this year. Perhaps it is different for different areas .

Hey there, thought I would let you know I had a letter today from EDF saying I will receive a credit on my key in the next week. This is totally different to what I have been told on the phone and also only 1/3 of the amount they told me, also, over the phone:mad:!!! Still I guess its that one about being "thankful for small mercies". Good luck to all of you waiting for yours.

Hey there, thought I would give an update for anyone watching this. I had a letter on Saturday telling me I would receive my rebate after the 22nd of this month (June) by charging my key twice or maybe three times at the same paypoint. This done and still nothing!!! No surprise there!!! I will let you know how long it takes.

This rebate for my dual fuel accounts of £8.40 has all the hallmarks of a scam. I got the same letter this year as last same story it would be loaded onto my gas card when I recharged it after a certain date with the rider, it may take up to six attempts if like me you charge the card weekly and fail 4 times in the 30 day 'window' can mean no payment)

After 3 attempts putting the suggested £1 on daily I called the so called helpline, to be told the terminal in my local PayPoint had been programmed to load the credit (retailer said this is nonsense) and to continue loading till the sixth day called again, told aggressively this RARELY happens but due to my difficulties, EDF would at great cost, as a favor, issue a new card with the credit on it.

So I did get this years credit but not last years, only as a result of persisting with at least an hour on the phone. Even if the system works sometimes think of all the £8.40s being 'stolen'. I know at least two other pensioners with the same problem.!!

On the first call I did get the 5p reduced charge per unit but theres is no reduced price on gas, seems there is a 'rebate' of £37 odd regardless of how much gas used credited SOMETIME IN THE YEAR !!!!!

Now you can see why I'm sure, apart from the sky-high fuel costs we are being ripped-off big time !!

many are.nt aware of the "warm front " government scheme to help low income and vulnerable people,you contact your utility company and say you want to apply for this,if you qualify you get £120 of your electric payed between January and March 2012,prepayment or bill,this scheme also has help with insulation etc will find this in the search engine.
