Best/easiest wireless router for Virgin cable?

Virgin have kindly upgraded my basic internet from 2 to 10 mbps and sent me a new Ambit 256 modem to replace the one they gave me when they installed my cable system in Blueyonder's time.

I've decided now would be a good time to change to wireless so that I can more easily use the laptop and iPod touch I have purchased in the meantime along with our two desktops.

Virgin offer a number of suggestions for wireless routers on their site

http://accessories.virginmedia.com/webstore/Default.aspx

but I would welcome suggestions from Techies as to which model I should buy (NOT necessarily from Virgin). Apart from being a good performer I would like one that is easy and straightforward to install onto my Virgin Cable modem (I am the wrong side of 65!!).

All suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance

There's not that much difference between them. Any of these here are suitable and they are easy to configure.

What about your previous thread here?

Why don't you ring up Virgin and ask them for a Wireless router, free gratis.
You are a good customer after all.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Thanks for asking Espresso. I solved my earlier problem (at least for the moment, hopefully permanently) by following advice on a forum I discovered via google to reset my PCGuard to the default values. Apparently I am not the only person to have this phantom scan problem going by the number of entries that came up on google. I deleted the akamai/dlmanage malware and could convince myself my computer is going faster now.

I got the netgear one they do free for new customers on larger packages a while back, any issue i've ever had with my wireless has been brief and resolved by the old unplug modem and router, wait a minute, plug modem in, wait a minute, plug router in.

Can't go wrong with one of those if you can wrangle it free, i'm sure theres far cheaper places for the same item than on their site though.
