Appliance Breakdown Cover

Options
Looking to cover our items as follows against large repair bills

Combi Boiler
Washing Machine
Oven

We have had policies since new for these but due to other issues these have lapsed and now company we have always used wont cover them

Anybody any recommendations to cover such items. Most are 8+ years old

    These things are not worth the paper they're written on IMO. If you do want to go ahead read the terms & conditions carefully - and check exactly what is and isn't covered.

    My washing machine was covered by one of these policies and a hose failed, water everywhere, washing machine knackered, and when the bloke came out to see it, he said nothing he could do under the policy as hoses were not covered. Left me with an invoice for £85 call out charge, washing machine not repaired, and he couldn't care less. Told me I would have to pay around another £80-100 if I wanted the work done.

    If your appliances are 8+ yrs old, with prices the way they are, you're probably better off buying new ones than throwing good money after bad.
