    Good afternoon all :)

Welcome to the gang, Roxiepie :)

Congrats on playing off the loan, Cleosmum! :)

Milly - glad to hear you've got your funding sorted out. :)

    Today I have/will:
    • call work about rearranging some shifts
    • do a mystery shop this afternoon
    • scratchcard (50p)
    • daily clicks
    • visit my Gran
    • visit a little girl in hospital tonight
    • post off a deposit cheque for a conference I've been selected to attend
    • try to figure out the cheapest way to get from Glasgow to Leeds so I can attend said conference. At least they reimburse my travel costs up to £75
Have a good weekend all! x

    Hi everyone,

Hope you get your pay sorted out Candy and good news on the course Milly.

Well, I got made redundant last Friday, so have spent my first week at home. Budgeting for personal spends has not gone too well so far, but here are my DFW actions for today....

    - check online banking
    - chicken livers for lunch (they only cost 60p and enough for 2 portions - wow!)
    - do all washing and hang outside
    - bought 2 as new books for birthday presents for friends from charity shop - only £1 each so v chuffed with that
-do housework and make house nice so i an have nice weekend with hubby
    - job hunting

    Have a good day everyone.

Hello All, I am a Newbie (joined a long time ago but didn't get involved) however have been reading and would like to take part !

I am Charley, aged 34 and from Tyne and Wear, Married and we have 2 DD aged 9 and 5. I work in the legal field.

I am just trying to get used to the chat and what everything means ! Can anyone explain click and scratch ? I notice people mention scratchcards and I am wondering what these are ?

    Well today:
    • I am at work all day, brought a packed lunch and used up what was left in the cupboards
    • Check Email (when I get home, Email blocked at work) see if I have a response to my complaint with Travelodge.
    • Check Post, awaiting response Re: PPI on a loan I have.
    • Hang out washing and add another load
    • Clean House, family visiting tomorrow so want the place spick and span
    • Think about shopping as fridge bare, not going to buy for freezer/cupboards as I am going to try and make sure everything used up before payday as I seem to never be away from the supermarket and I want this to change
    • Check bank to see if the £6 I sent from joint account has arrived in my account (testing time for money to transfer)
    • Try and enjoy the weekend, I have been doing overtime for weeks so I am going to have a lie in - woo hoo !
Hope that is correct and hope to get to know you all x

    Hello all!
is it ok to post again, please?
I oosted here yesterday and I used to post on Moozie's "what have you spent today" thread and it really helped me to focus, and also proved that I was making progress!

    today's dfw things:
    1. Listed a few books on amazon
    2. Was emailed some free tickets to watch my favourite programme being filmed
    3. Friend's birthday today - saved about 30p by giving her a birthday card when I saw her and chatting with her via facebook today.
    4. Texting with free texts
    5. Leftovers for lunch (and had breakfast at work too!)
    6. Have packed up the car for the ENORMOUS (and scary) Denham boot sale tomorrow with all my worldly goods. Fingers crossed!
    7. Not going out tonight as have to get up at ridiculous o'clock tomorrow for number 6!

    have a great weekend everyone!

Hello and welcome charely24, I'm a newbie too!

so much for this thread providing an incentive not to spend, I've just gone out and bought the following:

3 boxes of hebal tea (@ £1.59 each)
    divine chocolate (£0.69)
    two books from Oxfam (£2.98)

oh dear. that's £8.44 in one lunch hour! guess I'll have to start again tomorrow (or not spend quite as much planned tonight!)

hope everyone else is getting on slightly better :o

Not much for me I'm afraid. A lot of my bigger gestures have been done as I've recently cleared most of the balances of 2 credit cards (totalling £4,500!), so it's a lot of very little things still to do.

    Have checked my valued opinions account;
    Have entered some competitions;
    Bought cat litter from Lidl as it's the cheapest around (and saved a few quid!);
Booked a ticket for Looking for Eric at a cinema a mile further down the road than my nearest to save a pound on the entry fee.

    Not much guys!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Hi Roxiepie, thanks for the welcome.

I am in a DMP with CCCS (£27kish of debt) however feeling really positive and have actually managed to pay off 2 of the smaller debts this month. Reading has inspired me to change my ways ! Also I am trying to have the PPI removed from a loan which would help my balance !!!

I am going to sort out my sig with my details so I can become a MSE addict !

I may have to go and spend a little tonight - as sister coming tomorrow will make sure I have some biscuits in, something for a sandwich. However with £78.40 to last me until payday (25th) I need to go easy !!!!

However it will be a challenge to do so and perhaps that's the fun part !

    DD2 - Dancing Next Week - £2.50
    DD1 - Cubs Next Week - £3.50
    Petrol - £25.00
    Sponsorship - £10.00

So that's £37.40 for food shopping for 13 days !!!
I am going to try and have a go at this - see I am having fun already !
