Are there any problems in posting to Guernsey?

I'm selling an item for the first time so am nervous so placed a no outside bidders from the UK. A buyer from Guernsey wants to bid and wants me to remove my baring. Now from reading previous postings, the postage seems to be the same - are there any other problems or am I safe to remove the baring? Any advice welcome..

Guernsey should be able to bid though shouldn't they even with overseas bidders barred, or have ebay got muddled again?
The last time i looked the Channel Islands were UK, just as Northern Ireland is....
Or do I need a new map

The Channel islands aren't in the UK, the UK consists of England,Wales,Scotland + NI
The channels islands are crown dependencies, thats why they're not part of the EI either.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

Oh ok, so the poor people in the Channel Islands wouldn't be able to buy from any ebay auctions if overseas bidders are blocked as they are overseas for everyone except themselves?
Poor Guernsey

A customs declaration is needed for the Channel Islands as they are not in the EU. They can also be liable for customs duties if the items are valuable enough. They are zero rated for VAT if you are registered for that. The postage rates are the same as inland UK but Parcel Force and other carriers will charge a lot more than usual.0

This is information for Jersey, however the same should apply to Guernsey.
Shipping rates with the Post Office to post to Jersey are the same as the rest of the UK. I'm not aware of any customs forms having to be filled in for shipping the Jersey though. I've had loads of stuff through valued from £1 to £500 from the UK and never have any customs forms had to be filled in by the person sending the goods."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Thanks for the replies so far. The buyer has apparantly tried to put a bid in and it was blocked. I'm just worried if I remove the International block, I'll get the dreaded bidders from Nigeria or that I could have the lost international post problem.
Good to know the postage is roughly the same. I know with other 'international' buyers, they can claim the items haven't arrived and I would have been expected to get insurance to track the postage.
Is there anyone who has posted to Guernsey and has any experience on this?

Finally found this on the Royal mail website:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400033&mediaId=400362
where it says:
You do need a Customs declaration for Small Packets and other packages containing goods sent to the Channel Islands - postage rates to the Channel Islands are the same as those to the UK but Customs declarations are necessary
It was well hidden though!
As for relaxing your buyer requirements, if possible why not offer just Europe as an option and block rest of the world. That *should* include the Chanell Islands, shouldn't it?

Going slightly OT the Channel Islands are part of the British Isles, but not part of the UK. It is the UK that is part of the EU, therefore the Channel Islands are not part of the EU.
However I'm pretty sure they are part of Europe.
Also you can send special delivery to the Channel Islands for track and trace purposes (and I think compensation)."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Just some more info I've found out.
Up to 2kg is classed as UK postage and although you do need a customs docuemt on it, they will sort it for you.
Over 2kg is classed as International postage.
Nice that we have clear trade borders...There is no need to run outside
