New Conservatory

Hi all, i am a newbie to this forum. Just registered and thought i'd ask you all a question and i'm hoping for some replies. I'm buying a conservatory and at the moment we are just getting quotes off a few company's. Some of them have been an absolute rip off quoting me £20k, it's only 4mX4m. I have had one company out and they have given a very good quote and included is fitting 2 new windows as well. The firm is called upvcdirect.com and they seem genuine, there was no hard sell and the reason they are a lot cheaper is no showroom, no sales people and they don't advertise. Is there any body out there who has had a conservatory installed by this company and if so, were they any good. I want to go for it but there is doubt in the back of my mind as to whether the offer is to good to be true. Any comments please. Many thanks

Personally, I wouldn't buy the cheapest anything - it always seems to work out more expensive in the long run. See if they can show you examples of their work locally and look at locking mechanisms and details on corners and where the conservatory joins the house. The cheapest round us is appalling, so we waited and saved up a bit longer.

If any of your neighbours have conservatories or double glazing ask them who supplied/fitted and if they recommend.

We used a small local company for our windows based on neighbours recommendation and they were very competitive and we've had no issues.
