Cheap hotel - Stansted Airport?

Hey -

I'm flying out of Stansted Airport at 6am ish on a Sunday morning, but my connecting flight from Glasgow gets into Stansted at 8.30pm on Saturday night. I'm looking for a totally cheap hotel/room for the 'night' just to get some shut eye - is there anywhere either on the airport site or really nearby that doesn't cost a fortune?

Thanks :)

  • Unfortunately, no. There's absolutely nothing nearby that's reasonable if you don't have access to a car.

But why don't you just sleep in the airport? Many people do at Stansted, I've even done it once and had a great time :)
    From Poland...with love.

The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Don't worry about being a lone female. I've done it many times as a lone female and it's perfectly safe. My 17 year old sister has even done it. There are loads of people doing the same. Just make sure you get your place early if you want two seats together without an armrest in the middle, so you can lie down and sleep. By 9.30/10pm, they will all be taken and you could end up either sitting upright all night or lying on the floor! If you want more info, there's a site called I think
sleepinginairports.com, where people post their experiences.
The things we do for cheap ryanair flights! :)

According to travelsupermarket the Days Inn Hotel London Stansted Airport is coming up at about £28 via an American booking site on Saturday nights. It's nothing special - on the M11 at the services - but I would pay the money to avoid starting a holiday with little or no sleep. The bus shuttle is free from the airport and £2 for the return journey.
