We have hot water on Continuous. Its heated by the central heating system, and you have separate controls for your heaating -(ours is off at the moment, on twice a day in the winter)
Your emersion heater need only be switched on for a quick heat up - when say your kids have used all the hot water.............0 -
Your description is hard to follow, but I assume you have a gas boiler and a top-up immersion heater. The boiler will heat the water in the tank and it will stay warm for a while or until you use it all.
This thread related to electrical heating but also has some comments about when to run the hot water and tank efficiency.0 -
I have my boiler on timer for hot water , one hour in the morning and evening..that gives two people plenty of hot water for all the usual things you need it for including washing machine#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
