Connecting DVD player etc. to TV

Sorry if this is a silly question, for some reason i've always struggled with connecting things to my TV as can never figure it out!

I've just set up my new TV (:D) which has digital/freeview already, so my freeview box is now not needed. Before I had my 'digi' box and dvd player set up, but as I now don't need this, i'd like to try and attach my VCR as well (yes, I still have one!!!)

At the moment I have: -
1 scart lead from TV to DVD player
Aerial into TV

I have a spare scart lead and aerial cable (sorry, not sure what it's officially called) and also a scart lead adaptor which has 4/5 extra bits I can use.

So, what goes where? I would assume the aerial would now need to be plugged into something else, but not entirely sure.

Thanks for any help :)

Assuming your tv has another scart you should plug the dvd player into scart 1 of the tv and the VCR into scart 2 of the tv

That diagrams slightly wrong frugal. Scart 2 is normally (if only 2 scarts) 'composite' only which is what the video is. The dvd should be RGB which will be scart 1. I also dont see much point in connecting the analogue aerial to the video if its going to be switched off soon.

    Thanks for your replies.

My dad sent me a link to here http://www.which.co.uk/advice/setting-up-your-tv/tv-connection-wizard/index.jsp which was really helpful.

My tv only has one scart socket (seems odd?) so I have used my adaptor. They both work and I can now watch some videos I have had for ages, but never watched.
