Boundary question

Options
My garden is L-shaped and although i'm presuming the right-hand side is 'my' responsibility, what about the _ bit which is the same wall but could be my nieghbours rear boundary? I want to put a fence up and don't think he's going to be happy so have to make sure I know where I stand before I start.

there is no such rule, ie right hand or left hand.
you need to check the deeds of the house. and good luck.
my deeds were next to useless. the plan was that small.

You can't assume any one side or the other is your responsibility. Responsibility for the boundaries is written down in the deeds. At my last house both sides had equal and shared responsibility for boundaries.

Thanks for your responses. I don't have a copy of the deeds here - where do I find them? Solicitors?
