EDIT - Hmmm that didn't work then?? Seems I don't know what you mean!

You didn't put "open bracket" before the last QUOTE...

you need a '
' at the end, not just 'quote]'

When you do "reply" there is always QUOTE= in brackets etc.

if you want separate quotes

like this

if you know what I mean?

start it with
[ then quote then = then ]

and end it with
put those round each separate piece of text that you want to quote, and write your response in between each bit, then you get split quotes.

Another thing

If you want the person's name ie 'originally posted by x' leave the name in

If you just want it to say 'Quote' and no name, just use the
with no name.

Dear Ms Employer

Thank you for the opportunity to supply a reference for Miss L.
It is with regret that I have to tell you that this person bought me to the edge of insanity and was a contributing factor in my decision to retire early.
Her OCD which was not disclosed to me until a rather distressing incident involving acustomer and her dog caused it to be revealed
Fortunately for my business the customer decided against a complaint to the local constabulary.
This staff member also caused a huge dent in my profits due to her excessive use of cleaning products, sadly mostly used on her not my premises.

The excessive mobile phone calls and texts to her long suffering husband and playing of a games console in work time (I think she thought we were visually challenged).
I lived in fear of a tribunal for nearly 12 months and was terrified of being "caught out" shes as canny as a fox I will give her that.

Despite researching her illness and attempting to make allowances and not exacerbate it,holding meetings to find solutions in the workplace, relations finally broke down when I found her fingers wedged firmly in the till ! if you get what I mean!
Her subsequent psychotic episode of manic rage and her physical attack on me I believe should preclude her from being a suitable candidate in your child care facility.

Sadly as I cannot write any of this as I would prob get taken to court
Instead I have screwed up your ref request form and hope no one else is stupid is enough to give you one either

Self preservation sorry I have neither the time nor the money to be sued
And yes this is a TRUE story
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

My old boss hired someone a few years back, I advised against ever hiring someone with trousers THAT stripey and shoes THAT shiny [trying TOO hard]. A few weeks later, after complaints from [mainly my female] staff - my boss pulled his finger out and called the guy's referee. The bloke on the other end of the phone was crying with laughter as my boss started asking him questions about Mr Stripey Pants....luckily he was found that day to have been a tad creative in the expenses region and he was gone 2 days later. It would have been earlier but gvt departments are loathe to sack people unless they have actually committed murder WITH witnesses.

Ergo: Always call the referee and have a quiet word; no matter what the paper reference says. :D
