Please find me the most suitable breakdown cover

Hi there,
I've spent all day searching the internet for breakdown cover and am really struggling!
My options at the minute appear to be:
AutoAid - Very good price however I'm not sure pay and claim is ideal as I may not always have access to the necessary funds!
First Call - Looks good and a reasonable price however policies only cover the vehicle and not the individual.
AA - Using QuidCo I can get standard cover for around £20 and can "add" Relay to this for £10 using a current promotion. Unfortunately I'd be in the same position this time next year, however, having to try and find reasonably priced breakdown cover!
I would like breakdown cover that includes roadside and towed cover. I would like homestart but if not possible (Or if it majorly bumps up the cost!) then I'm not too fussed. I would like the cover to be for myself so that I can use if it I am a passenger in a friends car.
Ideally I'm looking to pay around £50 or less and would prefer if I could find a policy where this price is not achieved with promotions as I'd like next year to be a simple renewal!
Any ideas would be great.
Thank you

Have you tried the comparison sites.
I have heard a lot of negative things about First Call.
Can't you get a credit card for use with AutoAid?0 -
I have had Auto Aid & would recommend them. They repay promptly - though that doesn't take away the fact that you do have to pay out first.0

If you shop at Tesco and have a clubcard, you can get a good deal on RAC membership using your clubcard vouchers.0

Was going to say the same thing! We usually use our clubcard vouchers for shopping but this year thought we would make them work for us so got RAC cover.
IIRC the cover we chose is/was worth nearly £140 but only 'cost' us £33 of clubcard vouchers.
We have Personal, Roadside Recovery and have never had that level of cover before. Usually we just have basic cover from GreenFlag.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Unfortunately no Tesco vouchers
I'm so tempted by AutoAid... Great level of cover at a great price, and with fantastic feedback... I'm just not sure if I can "afford" to pay in advanced...If I knew it was going to be say less than £300 I'd be fine but if an extreme situation was to happen (And assuming I've broke down it is likely to be extreme) whose to say £300 would cover it.
I'll have to sleep on it!
Any other suggestions welcome0 -
Do you bank with Barclays at all? as with their additions account you get RAC cover.0
-
I bank with Nationwide. Do you know if they offer cover at a competitive rate? I'll have a check now
Thanks!0 -
