Abercrombie Fakes

We bought two skirts from abercrombielondon.com who are shipping fake products from China. So beware.

However we're trying to issue a chargeback against them, but Halifax want a confirmation from Abercrombie that the goods are fake. The Abercrombie brand proetction department sent us to the store, where the manager confirmed they were fakes, who then sent us to their loss provention to sort a letter out. They refused and then sent us back to brand protection to confirm this.

Brand protection are now saying that the store manager isn't qualified to see if the goods are fake, which is a brilliant response! They are now being really unhelpful.

We paid less than £100 so can't claw back under section 75. Any suggestions as to what to do, Halifax aren't budging and nor are Abercrombie.

I know this isn't what you are going to want to hear but why really should Abercrombie take the time and trouble to issue letter to you? They may get asked for this all the time and it would be a waste of their resources because you didn't purchase from an authorised outlet. What have they to gain from it?

That said, you would think that they would want to try and stop fakes. Have you thought about getting trading standards involved?

The brand protection team did send us to the store in the first place and said they would be more than happy to confirm they were fake. The store manager was very helpful and checking it all out.

The products were only about 25% cheaper than in-store, which didn't really set the alarm bells ringing. They have pulled a lot of content from the real site and being Americ

The store confirmed they have been having lots of problems with sites like this and that not much is being done to shut them down. I found half a dozen of them in minutes.

At the end of the day the cost to us isn't an issue but i really don't like fraudsters getting hold of mine and many other people's cash. It's cost A&F a customer, as the bigger order we bought in the store is going back to them tomorrow.

We do have trading standards looking into the matter now.
