Wow that is a lot of money

Is your dentist doing yours? or are you going to the dental hospital?

Mine is at a dental surgery, i was refered through the NHS, Im unsure if thats NHS payment, I think they refered me private. I literally couldnt care less as ifve been in excruciating pain for a month, £300 seems like a minor inconvenience .
Things that i find help; hot water bottle on face, sugar free chewing gum, nurofen (tried cheaper stuff and ibropruphen - doesnt touch it), brushing tooth, avoiding high sugar and 'bitty' (i had musli the other day - excruicating) foods.Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0 -
Poor you if you are in so much pain I think that your dentist should do something, surely it would be wrong for him not too!
My dentist has said that he will keep an eye on my wisdom teeth and if they cause any problems he will take them out.2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -

NO!!!!!!!!!!!
NEVER NEVER EVER use warm things on a potential infection.
It incubates the bugs, which makes them reproduce at a much faster rate, and so it all gets very nasty very quickly.
With important things like your airway leading from your face and neck, any swelling around here could be potentially fatal, so don't do anything which may make swelling worse. Plus, if the infection gets into your blood stream, the brain is the next stop for infections around the face. That's very serious as well. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Well so far its not hurting as much as it was yesterday, but it was killing when I woke up this morning, I dont know if that is just cos I had maybe been sleeping on it lol.
I think the Dentist opens at 9, so I will ring them from then and see if I can get in today.
Fingers crossed

Ok got one, I am going to the dentist at 4.00pm
My !!!!!! of a tooth isnt hurting me at the moment anymore
why do they do that lol
Its quite annoying, I mean there is time yet for it to hurt again before I go to see him.
But I feel like a fool now, if I go in and be all my tooth was killing me, so much so I was crying, but it doesnt hurt now, he will think I am an idiot
I thought I better still go and get it checked out rather than not go and for it to flare up again in Cyprus.
I just want advise off him really, like I want to ask him what he suggests if it flares up again, cos I was taking Co-Codemol like every 4 hours and that wasnt even working, and that is a very strong painkiller?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hope it goes well at the dentist this afternoon.
I had a wisdom tooth out at the dentist, it was infected, decaying and extremely painful. Having it out wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, certainly much easier than other teeth I've had removed, but I suppose it depends whether the tooth is fully through or not.
What I suppose I'm saying is I spent several weeks very worried and stressed about it and when it came to having it out I was busy counting to ten and distracting myself with pictures of sunny beaches in my head and before I got to 5 it was done with no pain (except for the injection) and just a little pressure. So it's not always a horrible experience.
Hope it all goes well, it'll be a relief to get it sorted anyway.0 -
I am kinda weird, I like the injection they give you to numb your gum lol
I am back now, he thinks its infected, he gave me amoxocilin (I know thats now how you spell it lol) and I have to go back on wednesday and he will check it then.
He said if its not better then he wants to take it out, but whether that would get done before holiday or by him or dental hospital I dont know?
I am hoping the tablets will clear it up.Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hi kindo.
I only ever had three wisdom teeth (does that mean I'm a bit wise??), anyway, I had all three taken out.
The bottom one on the right hand side of my mouth never appeared; an x-ray showed it to be growing at an angle, and therefore needed to come out.
Anyway, people are telling you of the pain and suffering stories, so I'll tell you mine to give you an even view!!!
I booked to go back the next week after work, and had the tooth removed in the dentist surgery (no need for hospital treatment).
Bearing in mind he had a job getting it out due to its position, I can honestly say that I suffered no bruising or prolonged pain.
I went straight home to bed after it was removed (I was a bit shakey after), but was back at work the next day with just a little soreness.
I hope all goes well for you if you do have it removed.
