1st National Bank /GE Money

Options
Was wondering if anybody could shed any light on my query. I have read so many forums/threads now that Im beginning to go cross-eyed !!

I took out a loan some years ago with 1st National Bank (now GeMoney) because I was young and naive and not knowing any better I took out the PPI policy which was attached to it on the basis that I was told it was extra peace of mind.

Now years later I discover that this PPI was in fact mis-sold to me and so I commence the reclaim procedure. I therefore send letters off to 1st National advising them so and receive a response that the can not find any record of me having an account with them. This dance / exchange of letters goes on for a couple of months before them finally saying "That I will need to refer the complaint to the broker who infact sold me the loan "

Is this true ? I wouldve thought that 1st National were responsible not the broker ? Luckily however the broker involved is still trading, it would just mean that I have start the whold damn process again !!!!!!

Any thoughts ?
If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!! :D

    Hi there hun

Yes write to the broker for this complaint, also enclose a copy of the letter from the other company who told you this so that they don't send you back in circles, just add " I have enclosed the copy of the letter from the lender, who confirmed I must complain to you as you were the company who arranged and sold this product to me".

Keep on at them until you receive the final response.

However, if its over 6 years ago it can be difficult for any company to retrieve the information, but if you have anything at all in regards of ppi on the paperwork with the account number that should help them track this down - hopefully.
Good luck and please keep us posted and post for help whenever you require this as well.;)

Just to add if you have kept the copy of the letter you sent to the lender, enclose that and tell them to refer to that, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
