End of tenancy cleaning

Hi all, am trying to get an idea of what is a reasonable cost for an end of tenancy cleaning service for a 2 bed flat - can anyone advise? I'm looking to get the whole place thoroughly cleaned including oven and carpets. I'm based in the south east (outside London).
Has anyone used professional cleaners at the end of a tenancy? Was it worth it and how much did it cost you?
I'm assuming that if I've had the place professionally cleaned the LL has little comeback to make deductions from my deposit (no damage during our tenancy, just a bit of wear and tear)?
Thanks

I'm sorry I cannot give you an idea of the cost but I would probably do the job myself as that way you know the job has been done to your satisfaction.
But if you do go with cleaners, specifically ask them to clean the oven until they can see their reflection in it, a friend of mine gave it a quick once over and ended up with a stupid amount of his deposit kept back, to pay for a 'professional' to clean it (hmmm!!).

Hi there,
I had some money deducted from a deposit for cleaning a small 1 bed flat that I used to rent. I left the property empty for a month before my tenancy was up, so the place was a bit dusty when they inspected it. I was deducted £75 for cleaning, including doing the oven (it didn't actually need doing! GRRR) and windows.
I have never employed professional cleaners at the end of any other tenancy (I've always just given it a good thorough clean myself) and I've never had money deducted from the deposit since that one time.
If you can produce a receipt, then there is little that the landlord can do if you have proven that you have had it professionally cleaned. However, the landlord could say that is not done to a good enough standard. In these circumstances, I don't know what would happen- would the landlord take it up with the cleaning company? Would you have to get the cleaning company back in? Would the landlord get them back in? I have no idea!
I, personally, don't think it is worth it as long as you clean the place well yourself before you leave.
However, this can take a whole day to do properly and if you can get a cheap enough quote, it might be more convenient to just pay someone to do it.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T
