Travel Insurance for terminally ill friend

Hi,
Just after any advice really.
A friend of the family was recently diagnosed with bone cancer which has been confirmed as terminal. They haven't said how long yet but not thought to be anytime soon, plus if you saw them you wouldn't know anything was wrong.
Anyway they already had a holiday booked for later this year, cruise and this person would like to go but they have been trying to sort out some travel insurance to cover just themselves. One company has quote them £1600 for 2 weeks travel insurance covering just anything related to their cancer.
Does this sound about right? The person is just over 70y/o but fit as a fiddle, still cleaning....
Any suggestions?
does this sound right?
Anyone know a good cheaper insurance company they could try?
Any help would be good.
Cheers
Al

If that covers their cancer then I would say that sounds good.
If anything happens on the ship then it's not covered by NHS and there are limited facilities on board which in some cases this means transfer by helicopter to shore.
If they are then abroad insurance will cover translators and possibly visitors costs (flights).
As it's not a straightfowarward situation then it might be worth consulting a broker.
For other people reading then get insurance AT THE TIME YOU BOOK.0 -
Aint sure about premiums, may be worth while looking at these maybe
