Hello I have bought an Ikea kitchen sink (sorry money tight) and wonder if someone can confirm that I need to put silicone around the worktop to make sure that water doesn't seep into the worktop
thanks for you help.

I would, easy to apply during fitting, goes on wipes off and you won't see it, - you will wish you had later - cost a few quid or do you have any laying around, neighbours, etc..0

two things you need to do if it has a foam strip on it just put that on and then the inside of the worktop were you have cut out for the sink the bare edge needs sealing by using silicone or pva
if it hasent got the foam silicone sink in and bare edge
hope this helps0 -
Good tip.
Where the hole has been cut in the worktop it is really important to seal the woodchip that is exposed. If you don't then there is a greater possibility of water getting into the worktop and it expanding into an ugly bobbly area.skinback69 wrote: »two things you need to do if it has a foam strip on it just put that on and then the inside of the worktop were you have cut out for the sink the bare edge needs sealing by using silicone or pva
