Got mine also as usual , doesnt look as though theres much though.
Wonder if we will get everything by christmas!0 -
Had my slot this mornin (ie. walked into the stockroom before the rest of the staff were unleashed
)
I knew there'd be very little but I'm surprised at even how less. I've seen stock quantities and longstock sheets but I hadn't realised how sparse this sale was.
Some stores will have a stand of stock per department, at most!0 -
Theres hardly anything in the sale. Looks like left overs and returns from the last sale.
I have a vip slot. that i wont be using now.0 -
I thought left-overs etc from last sale went to the outlet stores.0

No, not in the End of Season Sale as there is generally so much stock left that there's too much for the clearance store to take. If you imagine that the average clearance store is surrounded by around 10 mainline stores within 20-30 miles it's far too much stock!
A lot of the mid season does go to clearance however.
The End of Season stock goes to the regional warehouses and is held, sorted and the re-distributed back. In most cases the exact same boxes and stock sets will come back to the store as the regional warehouses simply hold them off site until the sale without ever being sorted.
It's a myth that Next stock is bought in for sale, in most cases 90% of the stock comes from the salesfloor itself with only bulkier (home) or branded (clothing) items being 'sent in'
Mid Season this year is obviously smaller the reason being the company have cut costs, given lines more time and have a lot less stock in holding than they used to. Stores are repelenished mainline goods on 'as needed' basis as opposed to 'have it in anyway' these days which is why people find the Mid Season so disappointing.
You'll find Mid Season is a mix of Summer bestsellers (but not all as some will be back next year) extremely poor selling lines or lines without production or stock level issues and lines that no longer fit into the company merchandising0 -

Question for someone who seems very knowledgeable!
All returns from the sales - do they go back on stock or outlet or what?
I ask cos usually order a couple of identical items but in different sizes and then take the unwanted items back to store. A few times (including this week) I've found my son has grown more than expected and wish I'd ordered next size up but didn't and now out of stock. Other people may have returned this size AND I WANT IT! Where do they go? And is there no chance of me re-ordering when says out of stock or removed totally from online directory? (long-winded I know!) :mad:0 -

Returns from sale into store go back onto the shopfloor as long as the sale is still running. Any other time apart from that they are returned to warehouse.
The excess stock from this past mid-season will head to regional warehouses and then be used as long stock (backup) for the soon to be dreaded Boxing Day commencing end of winter sale.
If the sale stock has gone...it's gone. The Clearance stores aren't on computerised stock search. Your mainline store is. Clearance gets told what quantities its getting (i.e - 400 ladies jumpers) but no idea what sort of jumper or what colour
It's always worth contacting Customer Services as its stock search system (which can and frequently does make things up) can occasionally locate an item for you0 -
chester85 just wanted to know that items in the autumn catalogue that are sold out, will they be back in stock or are they gone for good ?

Depends on the item. You can go into your local store and they can do a warehouse search to give indication of any expected items in the retail warehouses
Home stock is more complicated.
The downside of buying a lot less stock is triple the profits but less availability for some customers0
