parking ticket advice please,

recently got parking ticket in coucil car park did not display ticket and was done after 7 mins i had gone to cash machine and then to asda to get change all with a 1 year old and 5 year old who desperately needed the toilet in tow . i was heading to ticket machine when another shopper informed me i had been given a ticket by the officer who was just walking away from my car .i caught him up and pleaded with him but to no avail,he just told me i was only allowed 5 mins and to appeal explaining the circumstances,i have since appealed but was rejected.iam now seeking some much needed advice i feel it is criminal to charge £25 to park for 7 mins and also 5mins is insufficient time to get ticket especially when you have children with you,i would really like to fight this but if i go further it could costat least £50,what should i do

I'm surprised your appeal failed but you are where you are. If it was me I'd put it down to experience and move on. Depends how motivated you are though. Good luck either way.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

If you read the sticky at the top of this forum, you will see it asks you to say which council issued the ticket, and post up all paperwork, so that someone can advise you.

I always look at these issues in this context.

Fine £25.00 which I assume you paid it at £25.00.

Best you can hope to get back £25.00

    Time spent writing letters. £25.00
Time spent being annoyed with replies.£25.00
Time spent of phone shouting at them.£25.00

Instead time spent with your kids in the park. Priceless.

If the fine had risen and risen then I personally I could justify the time spent on trying to get my money back but other than that for the sake of £25.00 I personally wouldent bother.

The next step if you want to take it further would be to show a pic of the ticket that you received front and back. Then Neil B will be able to give you a response.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

daddybutty and everyone else. Advice for not having change when entering a car park.

Find a small tin (travel sweet tin is ideal), into tin place about 5 pounds of mixed silver change, leave tin in car.

Never have to worry about change for parking ever again.
