Tax Credits Rebate of £500

Wonder if anyone can help or advise me, I have gone right through this forum and cannot find another thread with regards to this, so figured I'd start my own, anyway here goes.....
A friend told me back in December about The Tax credits rebate that apparently loads of eligible people were entitled to in the sum of £500,
That was from the 2002/2003 period.
Well I successfully applied, and by the deadline of 31/01/09
I recieved a letter back from them saying I was indeed entitled, as I qualified for the criteria. I signed some forms and sent off my p60 which they had requested.
As yet I haven't recieved any further response and we're now in June.
I emailed update@taxcredits.org but haven't recieved a reply.
I thought by now I would of recieved the payment, but I'm still waiting.
Has anyone else successfully claimed this ? and how long did you have to wait for payment.
I really don't know who to contact now, I'm desperate atm and that money can certainly pay off some Debt.
All help and advice is appreciated, Thanks

Did you make your original application via taxcredit.org?
This is NOT the tax office but a firm dealing with the claim on behalf of the taxpayer. The forms you sent back were possibly giving authority for them to receive the repayment on your behalf and for the tax office to provide them with any information about you. As far as I am aware they keep a percentage of the repayment and any interest!0 -
Yes Sarflee, I d/l the form from there website, sent it off, they wrote back to me a month later saying that I was entitled to the rebate, and I had to sign a duplicate form with my signature, and send them my p60. I done this back in January... Its now June why haven't they contacted me yet ???:j Things can only get Better :j0

I doubt sarflee knows why they haven't contacted you yet
Try contacting HMRC instead of the email addres you have sent a message to, who would have no idea what is happening with your claim unless you are paying them to do it for youOne day I might be more organised...........
