Will they really be charging you rent or are you talking about paying for your keep?
You won't receive help with rent but, obviously, you can pay your JSA to your parents for your share of food and bills.0 -
,Are you having problems at the property you are in at the moment? If you receive H/B and C/T benefit at the moment could you not stay where you are, then you would not be a burden on your parents if they cannot afford to support you. As ONW says the JSA is for your living costs, which you have to pay wherever you live.0

I will outline my situation. Recently got divorced and walked away with nothing due to being scared of challenging my ex. Set up home with my 18 yr old son. Son moved out, I lost my job and am having so much trouble finding another one. The property I am in is a 2 bedroom and as I am now here alone the LHA doesnt cover it and I cant afford to pay the shortfall. My parents said I can stay with them until I get my self sorted. Just because they are family it seems unfare that i cant get any help, where as if I had the deposit for a 1 bed flat they would pay my rent.0

Does your council have a rent deposit scheme? They might be able to cover the deposit if you were to move to a smaller property. I think it's normally a loan, but presumably you will have a deposit returned to you when you leave your current place.
Alternatively, have you looking into getting a lodger? Does your TA allow it?0 -
Salhal yes understand now no they wont pay 2 b/room rate ask at your local housing office the have a list of social L/Lords and they dont all ask for huge deposits, like the Agents do.0

Won't you get a deposit back from the property you're leaving that you can use for your new place?0
