Family holiday Hurghada Egypt - advice please!

Hi all,
I'm totally confused in booking our first family holiday abroad; I'm open to any dates from July to September traveling from North West. I had originally looked into Turkey or Cyprus, but come across a week all inclusive in The Grand Makadi Hotel Hurghada. The travel agent was very pushy over the phone and said that I will never come across a deal like this again in July traveling from Manchester (£1,858 for a week al) he's probably right, but was hoping that someone who had been to this hotel or Hurghada could give me some heads-up.
Is this a good first family holiday with two girls ages 7 & 8 years? Or can someone recommend a family holiday not to be missed at an amazing price!
I'm clueless where to go, but want somewhere the kids are kept entertained and obviously not expensive, all inclusive would be ideal; not having to worry about spending money too much.
Any advice would be appreciated.:D

£18,580 sounds a bit on the expensive side to me!

thanks, I have spent the last hour reading reviews on this hotel, lots of positives and a few negatives, it sound lovely but still unsure it's the right holiday for 2 young kids and the Germans kinda put me off the hotel even more!
Will keep reading the review and hope someone will have more advice.

Ive been to Hurghada few times and have had lunch in the hotel you are talking about on the way back from a diving trip. The hotel is set outside of Hurghada prob about 5 km. It is a very nice hotel but I would be concerned that it or indeed Hurghada is totally right for children. The sea is amazing there if you are snorkelling but not all beaches have access from the shore and you have to go into deep water off a jetty - I am not sure abou this hotel tho. The sand is coral sand and is gritty the kids would be okay if they wore beach shoes all the time but you would need to check if the sea is okay for paddling etc. Fab swimming pools tho not sure of depth as I havnt used them. Loads of high factor sun cream is a must as it is really hot there at that time of year although a breeze from the sea can fool you into thinking it isnt to hot. All in all I would say that in my opinion and I am sure others may well disagree with me, I don't think Hurghada or indeed Egypt is an ideal destination for such young children the entertainment and trips are aimed at teenagers upwards. The egyptians do love kids tho so if you decided to go there your children would be doted on - sometimes off putting to us Brits but is only meant kindly. Hope this helps0

I have also checked the OP date for the holiday in question and it just isnt at that cost, the price that it does come out at is nearly 2200 there isnt anyway a travel agent could bring the cost down to 1850.00
I think there has been a mistake, maybe not the room type as stated was quotedI am a Travel Agent

Thanks for looking, I got the quote from Travelzoo £439 then the extra £100ish for junior suite, have spoke to them again recently and the offer is still available for July 21st from Manchester. I wanted to believe this was the holiday for us, but I'm worried it's not right for the kids, still think it's a fantastic holiday for couples or older children!

I'm on the hunt again for a family holiday (still keeping this one in mind though) any amazing family holidays highly recommended during school july/august would much be appreciated.

Unless your family really like the heat Egypt is likely to be far too hot in July. Cyprus too, although you can go into the hills. Mallorca or Menorca are good choices for a first family holiday.0
