Bad Debt

I am owed money by a limited company about £ 2000
So far I have sent solicitors lettes which have not been answered and I have found out that the company has 12 CCJ's over last 6 months but are still trading.
By chance I got a SPAM email from a company that claims to recover bad debts,
They state that its best to keep it out of the courts and to issue a winding up order on them, I think he said it was an insolvency letter according to section 1221S although I may have misheard the number as I have made a search on that and cant find anything.
He says that the letter gives them 3 days to pay up or we can close the company down.
Does anybody know anything about this ?

I'm don't know the ins and outs, but I have found "paying" for help with debt recovery is a waste of time and expensive. (If they do recover it, it is not unusual fo them to keep it to pay their costs - as you cannot alway recover these as well.)
I did read on one of the debt boards on http://www.fool.co.uk/, of someone who recently issued thier own winding up order (cost about £200 and they did it themselves) and got paid. I think the courts are pretty helpful, they will talk to you and explain things without so you can decide the best way to proceed. CCJ's are a waste of time on a company that collects them! I suggest you start there.0 -
