Beep when wireless connects

Hi there, this is driving me MAD. Everytime the wireless internet connects the laptop beeps - loudly. I have got the (control panel) sound selected to no sound and also if the volume the muted - it still beeps.

Any help greatly appreciated.:beer:

    Does the wireless card use its on software to monitor the connection as the option for sound may be in there.

    I'm not very tecchy - so no idea what a wireless card is - how would I find that.

    What make and model of laptop do you have so we can investigate further?

    Its a DELL Inspiron 6400

    Open Intel PRO/Wireless (the application controlling your wireless adapter, running in the system tray in the bottom right corner, it’s a green, fan-like icon showing the connection quality). Go to the Tools menu and enter Application settings. There are a number of checked boxes under “Alerts” – un-check them and click ”OK”. This seems to be working on this system so far.

    Just found this on the net, if you don't have the icon then try accessing it via control panel.
