First Time Using E-Bid

Hi there,

I have got loads of clothes to sell.

I have advertised them on my work's small ads pages but they haven't generated any interest!

I am thinking of putting them on e-bid and I was just wondering whether the site is any good?

Are there any golden rules that I should know?

Thank you very much.

Can I ask though why you have opted for ebid and not ebay where there are more buyers?

  • Thank you for that.

I got screwed over on ebay a few months ago.

I sold loads of stuff to one buyer for over £150. The buyer then came back and said that they didn't want to pay more than £50, so I had to refund the rest otherwise they would give me negative feedback for each item (they bought about 20 items).
Given that I'm just an individual seller, this would have seriously harmed my feedback profile, so I entered a huge dispute which took ages and really worried me for a period of about two months!

I don't want to risk that happening again, so I want to see if I can sell my stuff elsewhere!

Ebid is absolutely fantastic for sellers. Trouble is sellers seem to outnumber buyers 50:1 _pale_

You only got screwed over because you let them.

You have to use the ebay terms & conditions to protect yourself.

If you'd have filed unpaid item disputes for all 50 items, the buyer would have undoubtedly been suspended so even if they had left you negative feedback, this could have been removed.

You might even have been allowed to claim for feedback extortion.

I don't know what rules exist on ebid, and I suspect lots of others don't either, so you may have even greater issues if someone tries to con you on there as there will be less people to help you.
