no audio output device is installed

windows vista done a clean up on my laptop, now there is no sound?:confused:

help please

    Maybe you've gone deaf?

    Rights, first thing to look at is control panel and see if the audio device is listed and disabled, or not there at all.

    Click on start->control panel. Click on 'Classic View' on the left hand side and then double click 'device manager'. Press continue.

    In the list will be a title called 'Sound video and game controllers' and there should be a reference to an audio device , eg High Definition Audio Device or none at all. as Roy Walker would say, 'Say what you see' so far and then we'll try the next step.
