No but some cheeky estate agents will ask the buyer to 'drop a copy in for their files'. I just ignore that request, they are not entitled to see it.
BUT if the survey shows work that needs doing, and you are wanting to negotiate a lower price, THEN it can be a good idea to provide a copy of the survey.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Think about it
who pays for the survey? and who's benefit is it for.
I wish but sadly, no

If I get a nice surveyor now, I ask 'have I passed?'. I only ever get a vague answer, but always enough of one to know one way or the other.

There's some surveyors that won't even take a cup of tea in case you sway their decision. They're either extremely paranoid or weak willed. Imagine if you offered them a chocolate biscuit!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm just worrying myself over the survey and the fact it could bring up something which would make our buyers pull out of the sale. We have lived at our property for over 15 years and have only ever had done the usual decorating maintenance, so I’m dreading what this survey could pull up.
Our buyers (FTB's) are having their survey done tommorrow and we were suppose to arrange for our own survey for the property we have just put an offer in on, but I don't want to progress any further with our purchase (paying money for survey's etc) for fear of anything going wrong with our house sale.
I can’t remember the last time I felt this worried.0 -
Don't worry shazzy, it can't be anything too bad as you'd see it happening. It's not such a bad idea to hold off until your survey comes back as long as you can keep your vendor's agent at bay. It's exactly what we're doing as I don't want to fork out if there are problems - though I'm more worried about the survey on my purchaser's house than mine tbh.
@robwend, I'm afraid I can't divulge any more information than I've already given.

Sorry but one more question before i turn to the wine & chocs for my de-worrying

How long on average from the survey being done does it take for the buyer to receive their surveyors report?0 -
Within the week usually. I'd put a call in if I hadn't heard in 7 days.
I'm so suggestable. As soon as anyone mentions wine...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
