Hi and welcome.
The main complaints so far has been against First plus, so if you believe you were mis sold then go for reclaiming.
Was it First plus that sold you the loan or a broker?
Whoever sold you this you write to them to reclaim and complain.
Link here with reclaiming guidelines and templates:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Use the templates to help you but write your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Keep on at them until you receive the final response which should give you details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can go to the FOS if they have fully investigated and given the final response, and if your not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint.
Post by recorded delivery.
There have been much success and some are still fighting on, but the FOS are also resolving many of these complaints.
Check also on the above success thread when you have time.
Good luck and post up for help when required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks for that - does anyone else have anything that may help?0

FP are renowned for fobbing you off and referring to the broker. They are also one of the worst offenders for huge PPI premiums.
Dont let them put you off. The lender is responsible for this huge con. Do not let them get away with it.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
I have just had my claim against Firstplus upheld by the FOS and am now awaiting my refund. They have ruled that I should be put back in the position had the PPI not been taken out. They must refund all the payments made in respect of PPI + Interset direct to me. I was told by the FOS that I would probably have about a 6 week wait. I sent my first reclaim letter to them in November 08. I had an offer of reduced settlement in March with a couple of letters in between. This was their final response. I went the the FOS in March 09 and received the ruling from the Adjudicator in May 09.
Some people have waited a lot longer and some have got settlement without going to the FOS.
I think that they are maybe looking at Firstplus as a priority at the moment.
Good Luck and don't give up.0 -

Can I ask you as First Plus "customers" to help by sigining an e-petition I have started on the No10 website to try and force FP to reduce interest rates. I'm sure you muts be suffereing in the same way I am with their disgraceful refusal to follow the BoE and FHBR rates down.
Please to go e-petitions at the No10 website and search for First PLus (I can't post a link as I am too new a member)
Thanks
